Bird Sculpture Nearly Complete

The Bird is almost finished. It is still wet, so I am thinking about any last minute additions and if I want to put some sort of finish on it.

I have now attached the legs of the bird sculpture to the body.

New Bird Sculpture

I have started work on a new bird sculpture that I am hoping to have ready to try and enter in a show by June 6th. The show limits the size and weight of work to 42 inches in any direction and 75 lbs. So, I am working rather small.


This is my sketch for the sculpture.




Thus far...

I have begun to wrap the legs and head in cement. Currently I am waiting for them to dry enough so the cement is strong enough to hold the sculpture erect.
